These are pictures of the Dutch prisoner-of-war(POW) camp from 1942-1945. The photos were taken by the Japanese for propaganda.

To the left is Block B; to the right, Block A. The large building, visible in the background, housed elderly women and was commonly refered to as “the museum”. Other separate stone buildings, to the right , were a dysentery hospital, a facility for the “mildly” insane, a knitting center, confession room, hair salon, library, etc. To the left is the large sewing center where the women sewed everything from underwear to rain coats for the Japanese.
